Want to get modeling jobs?
Models promote fashion clothing, make up, or other products with the aim of improving the brand awareness of the product and agency and increasing its’ overturn. But there are also fitness models used for promoting fitness and wellness products and body part models. Body part models are employed because of the beauty and attractiveness of part of their body. For example leg models promote tights, hand models promote jewellery and nail care products and foot models promote shoes or nail polish.
Modelling is one if the most wanted jobs of young women. Modelling means beauty, attractiveness, wealth and fame. Further, jetting around the world, seeing countries and unknown places abroad, meeting famous people, working together with the most popular photographers, stylists and agencies, adds to the attractiveness of the model profession. It also seems so special due to the fact that no long studies or apprenticeship are required and one does not need to sit in an office all day long to earn comparable little money.
Despite its’ reputation as lucrative and glamorous job, the majority of models earn only little money and can hardly make their daily living from their income. Modelling is a hard job. Models are under a lot of stress to find enough jobs for making sufficient money. They frequently have long working days of ten hours or more and have to travel for only a few days for a photo-shooting around the world, where are not given the chance to adapt to their jet lag and have a look around in the new place, but have to start working immediately.
Most needed attributes for a model are therefore discipline, willingness and ability to travel on short notice (a pet could therefore be a problem), independence and knowledge of common languages such as English, French and Italian.
The entrance into the world of modelling is often difficult. There are numerous dubious agencies that promise fame and wealth, but only take money from customers without ever arranging for a job. The cases of young girls and women being discovered on the street or in a shop are extremely rare.
Further, the underweight fashion models promote unhealthy thinness and the number of youth developing eating disorders due to a wrong body image is increasing steadily. Recently, an international campaign against employment of malnourished models has started, remains to be seen the results.
Nevertheless, there are real chances of becoming a model through a serious agency, although it is recommended to start modelling in the beginning as hobby to not forgive any real job chances in case the modelling does not turn out to work. When searching an appropriate agency, one should look for their Website, costs (if the agency wants already money before registering a customer for set cards, photos, and registration, they should not be considered) and work. If an established agency offers the chance for a job, interested models should try it.
